I'm sure we've ALL experienced the huge sigh of, "What's that last guy doing? Just finish the challenge!", the hands in the air "What the ****" because some yahoo just trashed you for the nth time, or the "COME ON...!" when just one more person has to finish the challenge and someone leaves the game. How about the awesome Takedown pics of some guy's 'hoohoo'? Well now I want to hear from you.
Let it out!

Haha. Mate, I had alot of that last night online. I was hosting a game, and I was setting challenges, and about 5 times in a row, one guy would just not do a challenge and just piss everyone off! Before, I was doing a race. It was a really easy one too, it was from the Navy Yard to the Wildcats Stadium. Since I'm getting used to racing around without the map, I knew where to go easy. So I was racing along, kickin' everyone's ass because I knew the short cuts, I finally get near the finish line, but instead of sticking to the road, I actually went into the Wildcats Stadium! I'd gotten used to just going inside of it because of the online challenges when you have to meet there. So I quickly get out of the stadium and head towards the finish line...but 4 opponents had finished the race already. So yeah, Burnout does have its times where you just go, "f*ck!".

I'm sure we've ALL experienced the huge sigh of, "What's that last guy doing? Just finish the challenge!", the hands in the air "What the ****" because some yahoo just trashed you for the nth time sounds like me! Not on purpose though!! Been online a few times now with you badger and I did that trying to get a barrel roll through the fuselage at the airfield, Just couldn't get it and everybody else had done it and were all just kicking their heels while I'm going around and around missing it every d**n time. I felt a right plonker, the longer it took the worse I felt, ears burning in shame the lot Finally did it though and I could almost hear the collective sigh I also have the unfortunate knack of innocently straying into someone's run up to a ramp or t-boning them at a junction and other such maddening deeds. If psn: Floydant ever takes you out, gets in your way, puts you off or fails to complete a challenge repeatedly then it is not on purpose, no matter how deliberate it may seem! I can promise your eyes will never burn with the image of my hoohoo though!

Ooh...I was pretty sucky at some challenges with my friends once (heck, it was 5 at night) and I made it a point to apologise personally to everyone. I have pretty much the same issues!

Ooh...I was pretty sucky at some challenges with my friends once (heck, it was 5 at night) and I made it a point to apologise personally to everyone. I have pretty much the same issues! When you IM someone in-game, do they receive the message in-game? Sorry for basic question but I'm at work at the moment so I can't try it. I spent a good deal of my commute to work this morning trying to come up with a rudimentary method of communication when online (my main concern was how to apologise ) like flash brakelights for sorry, doughnut for hello, figure of eight for goodbye (got that one from badger my first time online, after a while he started doing a fig of 8 beside me then he left and then i realised what the 8's were) Anyway, I gets in work today, soon as the boss leaves the office I check out this site on recommendation of Badger and see that you can IM in-game Could have snoozed on the train when I was trying to standardize a completely unnecessary method of communication! When I completed the barrel roll mentioned in my prev post I doughnutted a few times which was supposed to mean "Sorry about the wait "

When you IM some one in-game, if they know how to send messages in game then they can go to Start --> Online --> Friends (Triangle) and then click on Message Box to view and reply to message. BEWARE that this cannot be done while Freeburning online.

BEWARE that this cannot be done while Freeburning online. In that case is anyone up for agreeing some basic conventions regarding communication. Is there some already that I am unaware of I don't mean I want to create the automotive equivalent of Klingon, just like "hello", "goodbye" and most importantly "oops, sorry" etc. If anyone has any thoughts ("good idea, Bravo" or "dweeb!!") I would love to hear them.

Nice subject. I've tried so hard to find ways of communicating with other players: "Sorry about that T-bone.", "Can we do the challenge you just scrolled thru that I haven't done yet?". I've found that pulling up beside the host assures him/her that you are serious about participating in whatever they are into. I've lined up beside my comrades in these rooms and the feeling rocks! Just like the A-Team or The Italian Job (corny? yes!). I've been rammed to say hi (once or twice is ok, 3 or more and I'm taking your a** down). I like the headlight/tail light blinks - good idea. They should've incorporated a horn into the game (but then I'd b*tch about all the honking), or an on-screen texting capability. Like floydant was saying, when a host (or myself) has finished their challenges and has no more to do, they either spin in front of me or lightly tap my car and disappear.
I wish I could ask the other player(s), without mics, which challenges they have left to do. I don't mind going through ones I've already done if it helps them out. I've had people do that for me.
Made some pretty awesome friends on this game.

Wow, I am really pleased that some of you think that this would be a good idea. Shall we start the process? If anyone has any particular messages they would like to convey on a regular basis post them and then when we seem to have covered the most common ones we can start coming up with assigning the actions. I have been thinking about it and i think it is only ever going to be able to be very basic, there is only so many actions that you can identify easily and quickly. If anyone has the time to come up with the bare bones of a scheme post it, I am very keen to hear your ideas. I don't want to hijack the forum, if any moderators want to take control of this I welcome it, it could be this sites "selling" point, the "bprc code" Yes Badger, I like just chillin' in a group while we wait

I think they mean tail lights. Meanwhile, I'll make a new thread for this scheme discussion.
