Lupu Bridge -- the second China tours longest arch bridge in the world (longest is now in Chongqing) -- gets its name from the two districts it connects: Luwan and Pudong. At the time of its completion in 2003, it was actually the longest in the world. The Lupu Bridge Climb -- actually it's called the "Shanghai Climb" -- is one of Shanghai's better tourists destinations,. For an 80rmb fee, visitors can climb the 300 plus stairs on the arch of the bridge to a viewing platform at the top. It's one of Shanghai's better, more interestingly achieved views, and you're afforded a panorama, 360-degree scene of the city for your trouble. It's open daily from 8:30am to 5pm. The Shanghai Climb is closes when the weather's not good.
Like the Sydney Harbor Bridge, the structure serves as a stunning sightseeing attraction. However, unlike the Nanpu and Yangpu bridges, also in Shanghai and crossing the same Huangpu River, the viewing Yangtze River cruises platform of the Lupu Bridge is located at the very top of the structure's giant bow-like support archway. This allows visitors to enjoy breathtaking views. Adding to the whole experience is the more than 300-step climb up the "slope" of the arched rib which makes for an unforgettable experience itself.
Lupu Weblink designed more than 10 world information. With impressive technology, it won the second prize of National Award for Technical growth and Technical growth Progression for A Analysis on Key Techniques for Design and Growth of Lupu Weblink, the first prize of Shanghai Community Award for Technical growth and Technical growth Progression for A Analysis on Key Techniques for Design of Lupu Weblink, the 5th Zhan Tianyou Public Works Award, 2004 China providers Lu Ban Award for Developing Works, the first prize of 2005 Shangri-la adventure Shanghai Community Excellent Design Award, and IBC “Eugene Figer” Award and other awards.
The success of Lupu Weblink was not quickly acquired. According to the navigational requirements, no piers are allowed to be designed in the flow and the connection should be designed as a single-span link. Experts described and examined effectively about what type of connect to be designed. As for cable stayed joins, such joins were already designed on Huangpu Stream as Nanpu, Yangpu and Xupu, of which the style was already impressive, but there was no room for innovation; as for cancellation joins, they must be designed on the flow with a period of over 1,000m to demonstrate its grandness, and from business travel to China the cost is relatively high.
