I am listening to Meshuggah's new album obZen, Airbourne's debut Runnin' Wild and some assorted Aphex Twin stuff. Math/Progressive/99% uncategorizable, classic but modern rock and electronica respectively.

if any of you appreciate rock as much as i do then you have to take a look at this video.
go to youtube and type in "dragonforce" (no quotes) then find the song "through the fire and flames" (not the live version)
i think thats it is phenomonal (sp) and it shows the true talent it takes to be that d**n good at something
please have a look if you can

That was unusual, if I just heard the music and no words and imagined what the singing would be like, I'd imagine slipknot type growling but if I heard the words with no music I'd imagine mid-80's synth prog.
But yes, you are absolutely right, mind-boggling guitar work there, don't imagine there's many people who can play that fast but still incorporate an actual melody into the music rather than just really fast noise like the bits of super-speed metal I've heard before.
Is that song really on guitar hero 3?!?! Has anyone here ever tried it? (I though Rush - YYZ on GH2 was bad enough)

trouble is with Dragonforce, it sounds good. But only the recorded stuff, and that jiggerypokery is done in the studio. Their live stuff is mostly just poor. Their also not really to my taste, it's all showmanship but no showman.

Not even Raining Blood beats it. Hell, I can't finish it on Hard!
