Located in Gutian Town of Shanghang County, Gutian Congress site top China tours was originally established in 1848, which used to be Liao`s Ancestral Temple and known as Wan Yuan Temple. After the Xinhai Revolution in 1911, the temple became a primary school named Hesheng which means harmony.
In 1929, the Red Army’s Fourth Army entered Fujian and then implemented the famous Land Revolution. During this time, the Hesheng primary school was changed into Shuguang primary school which signified morning twilight. On December 28-29 the same year, the great leaders, Mao Zedong, Zhu De and Chen Yi chaired the 9th CPC Congress of the Red Army`s Fourth Army here, which is known as Gutian Congress.
