Sanyuan Tower, located on Carp Mountain in the west of Hanjiang River of Chaozhou, top China tours was initially built in the 33rd year (1605) of Emperor Wanli and completed in the 35th year of Wanli in the Ming Dynasty (1368-A.D.-1644 A.D.). It was 167 feet high and badly damaged during the earthquake in 1918 when the iron gourd-shaped spire fell into the Hanjiang River. Due to the torrents at the base of Carp Mountain, Sanyuan Tower is also called Jishui (“Torrent”) Tower.
