Chaoyang Paleontologic Fossil National Geopark affordable China travel packages, one of the third batch of the national geoparks approved by the Ministry of Land and Resources of P.R.C., is located in Chaoyang City of western Liaoning Province. It covers a total area of 2,300 sq km, including a 207 sq km area of principal geological remains.
The main geological remains in the park are: paleontologic fossil, zoic stratum, and geological structure. There are abundant and various Mesozoic paleontologic fossils in the park. The fossils of the earliest avifauna and flowering plant have been found here. That is why Chaoyang was regarded as the place "Where the first bird flies and where the first flower blossoms". This park is internationally well known for its particularity, integrality and singularity. It is a world-class treasury of paleontologic fossil, with high value on scientific research.

The geopark is composed of Shangheshou Paleontologic Fossil Area, Sihetun Paleontologic Fossil Area China travel, Dazhangzi of Lingyuan Area, (all above are major producing areas of the famous "Rehe biome"), Phoenix Hill Area, and Pagoda-tree's Cave Area.
There is rich cultural heritage in the park where it was once the holy land of Buddhism. There is the earliest Buddhism temple in record in northeastern China; there are Hongshan cultural relics of Niuheliang where the goddess statue, jade pig-dragon, goddess temple Holidays in China, rock-piled grave and the altar were unearthed. The discovery of Hongshan Culture has brought the China's cultural history to a much earlier date for more than 1,000 years. The park merges culture, history, scenic beauty and geological remains into an organic whole. It is an ideal place for recreation, tourism, and popular science education.
